Have you noticed our beautiful and colorful new flowers at our farmer's markets? We call
this part of our business Life Flowers and we'd like to introduce you to Danielle, who will be heading up this part of our farm production.
Danielle grew up in the country in southern Illinois. She came to Florida with her husband three years ago and they have two young children. Danielle has been working hard at the farm with our micro greens but she loves to work with flowers and will now focus her efforts on Life Flowers!
Danielle believes that flowers evoke a feeling of joy and love and she wants to spread that feeling to everyone that purchases our flowers! Flowers and working on the farm have helped Danielle overcome her own struggles with depression and she now feels much better as she connects with nature. She often says that Life Farms was the best thing that ever happened to her!
Danielle will be growing cut flowers, edible flowers, and medicinal flowers. Her cut flowers include brightly colored zinnias, sunflowers, dahlias, and celosia, and for a more delicate, dreamier look: lisianthus, snapdragons, larkspur, roses, and ranunculus to name just a few! The edibles will include flowers such as nasturtiums, violas, roses, turks caps, hibiscus, and Florida native edible wildflowers. She's already mixing in edible flowers with micro greens to create an immune system blend that is high in anti-oxidants, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.
As Life Farm's talented florist, she creates beautiful bouquets and wearable flowers as well as gift baskets for sale at the farmer's markets and available to CSA members on pickup days. Some high end restaurants are ordering our edible flowers to garnish their desserts or salads and we couldn't be more proud of that! Serve some up on your own table in salad or as a garnish on special occasions!
